Fake and refurbished gadgets sold as new are common online. These checks take two minutes and save a lot of money.
Check the box and seal
Original boxes have sharp printing, a barcode sticker with serial number and model, and a factory seal. A loose or re-glued seal is a warning sign.
Match the serial or IMEI
The serial number on the box, on the device and in the settings menu should be identical. For phones, dial *#06# and compare the IMEI with the box.
Tip: With cash on delivery you can check the seal in front of the delivery person before paying.
